Why would anybody want to do free work? Why would you want to waste your valuble time on somebody else? Well, I can answer that. If you work for your community, it can change the whole city. By helping other people you give some people a chance to start over.
Sometimes when you help people, they do the same and help someone else. It creates a domino effect and soon people are always trying to help each other out. It would be so great if everyone got over their self pride and just did things for other people.
Volunteering can make you a better person. It will humble you to see how much people will apreciate it if you help them out. I think every one should volunteer. I think its great that our school has us do it to graduate. It sure does help the community.

A hero to me is someone who know they are beat before they start, but they do it anyway. They know they may fail, but they try to persist anyway. This person, is my grandma. She developed colon cancer 43 years ago and defeated it. Now in her late 60’s, it has came back as two different cancers in two areas of her body. She is on chemotherapy and radiation and is fighting it. She doesnt know if she can beat it this time, but she is stubbornly persistant and won’t rest until its gone. She has been single for more than twenty years and is strong enough to survive on her own. She just bought a new car and owns her own house. She works more hours than most people I know, even though she does not need to. She does not get emotional or ever complains when you ask her about her health or the fact that her mother has recently died at the age of 92. I have yet to see another human being that is stronger than my grandmother.

Tigers. I love tigers. They are so stunning and beautiful to look at. The large bodies with vivid orange and black stripes make them so majestic. I would much rather see them in the wild than in the zoo. They are endangered already and I don’t want them to be taken from their territory to be bred in a zoo. I would much rather have people buy their own land in native tiger territory and live on that land to keep the tigers safe from hunters and other dangers. Tigers are so fantastic, they don’t deserve to be taken so that we can watch them sleep in our local zoo.

Green. Green is one of the most frequent colors in nature. If you go deep into a national forest, all you see is green like this green leaf speckled with water droplets. Green is every where.
Even this green sewage is beautiful. It is such a bright, neon green that captivates many who look at it even though it is pretty disgusting.
This is a pretty crazy eye with the green in the middle. It makes the color so much cooler. This color green is very intriguing and crazy looking.

I think Earth Day is pointless. Anyone one who is actually concered about the environment, should be doing things to help the earth everyday, not just on one day of the year. Its the thought that counts, but if your really concerend, try helping the earth at least once a month. If everyone on this planet were to observe a day every month as earth day, then we might be able to make a difference. But until we get to that point, the earth will continue to suffer from human actions in one continuous spiral.

Just the other day, I went snowboarding and ran into some friends there. This was pretty cool because normaly I would have to stick with my family and wait for them since my brother is just learning how to board. I decided that I would spend the day with my friends and we were debating what we should go do.
“Let’s go to the new terrain park,” Kyle said.
So we did and saw that it looked much bigger than the other one and we were all self- conscious about going on it while everyone was watching. So we waited for everyone to leave but we still didn’t want to be the one to go first. Since I have been going longer, they voted that I go first. I did so and did the best out of everybody. It was great being able to accomplish something if you just try.

Just recently, my grandma was hospitalized and needed to have surgery. The doctors discovered that she has cancer in multiple areas of her body. This struck a big blow to our family because she has already had cancer over 30 years ago. Its very depressing because this weekend, we were constantly at Riverbend Hospital in Springfield. I was really shocked when I first saw her in her condition. The anistesia was making her very old and tired looking and the surgery swelling made her look oddly large. Last night when I found out that she was getting worse and that she was losing her will to heal, I felt terrible. When we visit her daily, it is hard for me to look at her. I feel so helpless standing next to her and not being able to do anything. I would like to see her get better. But all I can do is hope and pray that she will recover and be able to spend a few more years with us without the dark cancer cloud looming abbove her.

The pod casts I listened to were very intriguing. I really liked them. But one of them stuck out more than the others. It was Andrew’s podcast about World War. I really liked how he used different sound effects when he said certain things about the book he read. It helped me visualise just what was going on and helped me connect to the story. I really appreciated that he used background music to spice up what he was saying and to add emotion to the story. The different dialogues, sound effects, and background music helped me stay connected and interested in his podcast. Without it, I would have exited out to listen to something else like I did with some of the other pod-casts. Now that I listened to his podcast, I want to read the book for myself to get my own recollection of the story. After the podcast ended, I was left begging for more. I really enjoyed it.
